Liverpool John Moores University is committed to supporting Looked after Children and Care Leavers in their progression to higher education. The variety of programmes we offer enable students to come and experience what life at university would be like and hear first-hand about the support that is available to them.

Each Academic year, LJMU host a variety of widening participation events, specifically targeted at Looked after Children. These include LJMU’s mentoring programme in which current LJMU student’s work one on one with pupils right across the Merseyside region. The programme allows students aged from 14-18yrs to receive subject specific mentoring helping them to achieve in their GCSE’S and also assist in meeting the conditions of offers from their chosen universities.
