Open Days are suitable if you are looking to study an undergraduate programme at Sheffield Hallam University. They are a perfect chance to explore our modern campuses and the wonders of Sheffield, view a range of accommodation, speak to staff, and learn more about the wide variety of courses and support services available.
The named contacts for Care Leavers will be present at the Open Days on the SHU Progress stand. They will be happy to answer any questions and provide information, advice and guidance to you and any supporters you may wish to bring such as a foster carer, teacher, college tutor, social worker or local authority personal advisor.
When booking onto an Open Day, simply click on 'Care leaver drop in' on the list of 'Register your interest' options and this will provide you with information on where and when to speak to the named contacts.
As a Care Leaver, you can attend Open Days as part of SHU Progress. This is a bespoke scheme which offers support in the year of your application to University. A major benefit of the scheme is that we will support your travel costs to and from an Open Day.
To receive support with your travel costs, you can speak to a teacher, college tutor, social worker or local authority personal advisor to discuss a nomination onto the scheme. Full details, including the nomination form, can be found here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/shuprogress
