Here at Coram Voice, we have been working hard to think about how we can best support children in care and care leavers during this time and how this fits with our ongoing work to help our project, A National Voice reach its full potential as the National Children in Care Council.
With this in mind we are relaunching A National Voice virtually on our twitter, @CoramVoice, as a way for young people to engage with us until we can all get together for some amazing national work at a later date! We would love it if you could share the links for our social media across your networks and with the children in care and care leavers that you have contact with.
Here we will be hosting conversations with young people and the professionals supporting them using #ANationalVoice, providing links to useful resources and sharing events, activities and opportunities happening with children in care and care leavers at a local and national level. We will also be using this platform to let young people know about events and activities we are holding, including Art Club for children in care and care leavers to submit their art with a weekly theme and a showcase each week on Instagram and a number of virtual events for young people to link with others in a safe, online space carefully led and moderated by our participation team.
We are going to be launching our first ANV conversation with children in care and care leavers, and the staff that support them, at 4:00 – 6:00pm on Wednesday 8th April on the topic of Connections; talking about the importance of simple things like relationships, socialising, internet and other things that keep us connected, which are often taken for granted but their importance has been highlighted in these past weeks.
We would love it if you could share the links to our platforms and the plans we have going forward with the children in care and care leavers that you have contact with.
