The National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) is looking to appoint a new Chair of the Board of Trustees.
We are seeking someone who shares our passion for making a difference to the lives of care experienced young people and has experience in a senior executive role. Using your strong leadership and experience of governance (preferably in a charity environment), you will steer the Board in meeting the charity’s strategic aims and objectives and ensure the proper governance of the charity.
You will be joining NNECL at a very exciting time as we transition from a network hosted by the University of Winchester to a fully independent charitable organisation. You will guide our journey towards becoming a financially sustainable charity, with the support of transition funding that has been secured from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. You will oversee the work of the new Director of NNECL as they set up the new charity and drive the development of a multi-stakeholder project funded by the UPP Foundation to develop a new quality mark for institutions working with care experienced young people.
Please note this is a non-renumerated role, although reasonable expenses will be paid.
Closing date for applications: 5pm, Monday 22nd July 2019
Interview date: Friday 2nd August 2019
