28/11/2019NNECL are looking for a new Trustee to act as Treasurer

The National Network for the Education of Care leavers (NNECL) is looking for a Treasurer with a financial background, to sit on the Board of Trustees.

Overview of Role-

Whilst the Treasurer will play an essential role in ensuring the charity’s finances are clear, transparent and sensibly managed, they will also act as a trustee, contributing their expertise to all strategic decision-making of the board. As such, this is a unique opportunity to influence the shape of NNECL as it grows and develops as well as being a chance to make a genuine impact on practitioners in the education sector and care- experienced students across the UK. This is a voluntary role, but reasonable travel expenses can be claimed as per the financial policies.

Time Commitment- the Board of Trustees meet generally 4 times per year for 2 hour meetings, in different parts of the country. Trustees can usually ‘ring in’ if necessary. There may be further meetings occasionally to discuss the finances, particularly to prepare for the Independent Examination. Other contact between meetings tends to be by email.
