A group of national charities – Become, Stand Alone, the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) and The Unite Foundation – are working together to understand what challenges students in higher education without family support are currently facing, and what we and others can do to help.

The situation with the outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) is rapidly changing and we are conscious that this is a time of great uncertainty for everyone. We’re keen to understand how you personally, and how students without family support collectively, are feeling during this time and what good support would look like to you.

If you’re a care-experienced or estranged student studying higher education at college or university, we’d be grateful if you could complete our survey. Please complete it only once.

We plan to feed back the results to everyone who completes the survey and also share with key organisations who can help us to improve the support you and others receive, such as the Office for Students, Universities UK, and the Department for Education. Your responses will be anonymous and no personal information will be shared. However, we have included the option to add your personal information so that we can contact you to offer advice and support if you would like this.

If you have any questions about the survey or anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Sam at sam.turner@becomecharity.org.uk.
